Only 5 percent of people seeking food assistance from Harvesters are homeless. While many people think of the homeless person when they think of hunger in our area, the face of hunger is often the face of a child, a senior citizen, a family. Help Harvesters feed as many as 66,000 individuals every week.
Hunger is a problem that is largely unseen in our community. That’s why raising awareness is critical to the success of Harvesters’ mission.
Help us educate the community by becoming an Ambassador for Harvesters. In doing so, you join a group of motivated individuals who speak on behalf of Harvesters for a variety of community groups, including schools, corporations, civic groups and faith-based organizations.
If you are interested in applying for the program, please contact Corrine Cooper, volunteer services manager, at InfoRequest@harvesters.org or 816.929.3057.
